Description}: I finally found a nice 1280 after many years of searching :D Man, does this thing put out! Continuous watts of 185 RMS, with peaks above the 360 Watt mark on the meters! The SX-1980's little brother has got some serious kick! I know 1280's are notorious for being more problematic than the other SX's, but I think this one I got is a real gem. Description}: These are the newest addition to my speaker collection. They are a unique "mirrored" model that were not sold in the US. They utilize a very beefy crossover network, with Marantzs own LPF Film tweeters. I found them with the help of a friend in Houston. I refoamed the woofers and Vari-Q bass port plugs. Beautiful Original 1976 Marantz HD66 Speakers

Description}: These are perhaps the last suriving pair of early HDXX Marantz speakers that still have the original open cell foam grills. Mine pictured here were my brothers from new and when he moved in 1988, I bought them from him. He always liberally sprayed the foam grills with Automotive grade silicone used for preserving rubber weatherstripping. It seems to have done them justice and here they are still intact more than 30 years later. I did, however, shrinkwrap tem and put them away in boxes for 20 years. I came to a time that I needed them last year so I pulled them back out to use in my entertainment center.

Description}: My "primary" audio component. I acquired it from original owner 3 years ago with all paperwork and schematics. This was Pioneers finest acheivement and was, at the time of it's introduction, the world's most powerful home audio receiver, delivering 270 Watts Per Channel Continuous RMS. It was quickly dethroned by Marantz with the introduction of the 2600. The SX-1980 weighs 78 Lbs! It has a toriodal transformer that has miles of windings inside and is reminiscent in size of a transformer you see on a power pole, HUGE! I absolutely love the sound produced by this vintage beast. 1975-77 Kenwood Model Seven Speakers

Description}: These Kenwoods are among the rarest of speakers ever produced, having a MSRP of $2600 in 1975 and finishing run in 1977 @ $2900. Designed and built by Kenwood with their own drivers. The woofers weigh 25 Lbs and have a Japanese Kenwood Tech signature on the backside of cone.The cabinets weigh a back-breaking 130 lbs each! They are constructed of 1.75" thick solid Lumber core and have the same triple crosslaid type baffle as their US sibling, my LS-408B's. None of them were sold in the US. They were hailed at the time of their introduction by audio labs as "The most accurate and "real" sounding speakers ever produced. Extremely well designed with very flat response curve and high efficiency @ 92dB-1W/1M.
